Alabama Passes Tough Immigration Law

Alabama joins Arizona with a tough new immigration law.  This law is unconstitutional and will likely be struck down.   Still, I wonder how my friends and colleagues will feel about having me along for drive?   I mention this, in jest of course, because it is now a crime to drive an undocumented person in one’s vehicle.  (Though American, I look totally Mexican since I was born in Mexico).  In theory, then, we are responsible for checking passports of those who ride along with us in a car.  This cannot possibly be constitutional.   It de facto forces citizens to be part of the government.  How ironic, then, given the professed views of government of those who passed this law.  They are lots of things.  However, they are not in any sense conservative.
